The Democratic National Convention ROCKED!!!! Well in terms of music anyway. And I did like Stevie Wonder’s performance. He wasn’t suppose to sing Sign, Sealed, Delivered one more time. Give the artists a break sometime….I enjoyed it and here I’m sharing my thoughts on the music.

the 5th Annual Black Women’s Arts Festival was held in Philadelphia this summer. For four days, Black women artists, performers, visual artists, and filmmakers got together, celebrated creativity, individualism, artistry, and showcased their craft. Black Womyn Conversations, scored by me, was screened and discussed with the filmmaker Tiona M. as well.

Aishah Shahidah Simmons and I were recently at University of Wisconsin-Madison sharing with students and faculty on how we can organize and end sexual assault as well as sharing with the LGBT students and hearing their concerns and challenges.
