Margie Perez Does The Democratic National Convention
September 8, 2008
Before all the commotion of the Gustav and presumably the expected Ike-ster, many of us watched the Demoncartic Nation Convention. Depending on your coverage, some things you saw, and some things you didn’t.

Democratic National Convention
Before the DNC, my sister on the music scene, Margie Perez, emailed me to let me know she would be speaking as a New Orleanian musician living in the upper 9th ward after the storm. Apparently Obama and his staff remembered visiting the Musicians Village in the 9th ward and remembered Margie who also lives there in one of the homes. I haven’t been back to visit Margie since our jam session last year, but the Musician Village homes are quite nice.
Margie…aka…the Part Time Goddess definitely has friends in high places and friends who cared enough to record her speech. So here it is. Let Margie know what you think and leave a comment on Youtube, here or her Myspace page.

Hello Margie: I am a good friend of Monica Dillion. I just finished watching your DNC Speech. It was a fantastic performance. You made a quote “It is said that those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it”. That is true and I say that “you are a beautful example of how One's Trials and Tribulations can be turned into Assests”.
Sincerely,
Lonnie J. Harris
