Monica Dillon Music is alive and well. In addition to working on original film scores as an independent film composer and creating original music, I am currently working on quite a few new original songs which I will release on “A Beautiful Life” this year. Songs such as “When The Levee Broke” and “I Gotta Run On” will be featured.
As a New Orleans based musician and performer, I take great pleasure in getting my music out into the world and to you. Please continue to support your local musicians in your city and around the world. This is how we can and will keep independent music alive.

Monica Dillon is a welcome addition to the wealthy talent pool that exists within the New Orleans community. A versatile keyboardist and vocalist, Dillon shines on this first solo effort. Most of the 11 tracks are slow, mellow numbers in a smooth jazz vein with some noticeable strains of gospel, R&B and cabaret skillfully mixed in.
Dillon is equally dexterous on acoustic piano, Fender Rhodes and Hammond B-3 organ, moving up and down the keys with ease and creating a current of sound that flows evenly and is soothing to the ears…. Monica merges various genres of music in her repertoire including jazz, gospel, R & B, and adult contemporary. “All I Have Is A Moment” features the hit songs “My Baby,” “T.S. Isidore,” “Like Friday,” “Think of Me,”"We Make Do,” and the anti-rape anthem “No,” featured in the award winning documentary “NO! The Rape Documentary,” by award-winning filmmaker, Aishah Shahidah Simmons.
“All I Have is a Moment” has gotten worldwide attention reaching those in the USA, Germany, London, Japan, Spain, Greece, France, Hungary, and Croatia. Often compared to the soulful political influence of Nina Simone, the sultry balladry of Cassandra Wilson, the songwriting poise of Brenda Russell & Patrice Rushen, and the chops of Joe Sample, Monica’s sound blends jazz, blues, funk, and folk. Telling stories and painting pictures is Monica’s claim to fame through her heartfelt and powerful original compositions and performances.
